Viñas Viejas de Paniza is one of the most recognized wines of Bodegas Paniza. The last one was a gold medal with its 2016 vintage in the Mundus Vini contest, held last February. This meeting, founded in 2001, is the most important in Germany and one of the most emblematic in Europe. In the 2018 edition, 6,500 wines from 44 countries participated.
Viñas Viejas de Paniza belongs to the author’s wine range, which reflects the commitment of the winery to quality wines. It is made with grapes of the Garnacha variety from old vines up to 100 years and remains six months in barrels giving rise to a complex and elegant wine with aromas of raspberry and pillory accompanied by memories of mocha and vanilla that bring richness and complexity. With its first vintage, that of 2012, it obtained 90 Parker points, 90 points and 5 stars in the Peñín Guide 2015, and silver medal in Berliner Wein Thropy 2014 and 2016. With the 2013 one it received a silver medal in the Concours International Selections Mondionales des Vins and bronze medal (86 points) at the 2016 Decanter World Wine Awards.
